In late Spring it produces profuse light doubled-petaled yellow blossoms with a light fragrance lasting several weeks. Rosa banksiae 'Lutea' blooms on old wood and it is best to prune oldest wood cane after flowering. Lady Banks Yellow Rose is easily propagated by grafting, budding and cuttings. It performs best in a sunny location in well-drained, acidic soil. Fertilize early Spring before new growth appears. Mulch to conserve moisture and weeds. It rambles in layers when left on its own. Lady Banksia is drought tolerant after it is established, making it a good candidate for xeriscaping. Allow it to climb up a tree for a fantastic view.
