In late Spring or early Summer, Rosa 'Madama Legras de St. Germain' produces abundant fragrant, full, ivory-white flowers with yellow tinge. the Camillia-like flowers appear on old wood. The dried flowers make great potpourris. Alba Rose has deciduous, gray-green, finely serrated leaves. It is easily propagated from softwood cuttings or simple or tip layering. Rosa 'Madame Legras de St. Germain' thrives best in well-drained soil in a sunny environment. Prune after flowering to promote new growth next season. Its long thornless canes can be trained to climb on a trellis or arbor. It can also be trained to be a rambler. Alba Rose is safe to grow near children or foot traffic since it is nearly thornless.
