Comments: Rosa 'Dorothy Perkins' or Floribunda Rose or Rambler Rose or Wichurana Rose is a Hybrid Perpetual rambling rose with a vigorous growth habit. It is a classic hybrid by Jackson and Perkins (1901); its seed parent, Rosa Wichuraina and pollen parent, Rosa Gabriel Luizet. In late Spring or early Summer, Rosa 'Dorothy Perkins' produces prolific fragrant, small, light pink full, frilly flowers, borne on old wood. The showy blossoms of this once-flowering rose last a few weeks and are followed later by ornamental, elongated bright orange hips. It has dark green, glossy, deeply serrated leaves which turn rusty-orange in the Fall, providing a colorful landscape. Floribunda Rose 'Dorothy Perkins'has long thin canes and is moderately thorny. It can be propagated from cuttings, budding or grafting and thrives best in well-drained, acidic soil in a sunny to part shade location. Rambler Rose 'Dorothy Perkins' can be trained as a climber or rambler. Prune after flowering for abundant blooms next season. Allow Wichurana Rose 'Dorothy Perkins' a trellis, arbor, arbor to display its charming blossoms. Allow it to climb up a tree for a magnificent bloom. Hybrid Perpetual is a terrific show stopper.
