Comments:  Rosa 'Nearly Wild' or Floribunda Rose is a bush rose with a vigorous, compact growth habit.  It is a showy hybrid by hybridizer Dr. Walter D. Brownell (1941).  It is the result from a cross between the 1910 large-flowered wichuraiana climber, Rosa Dr W Van Fleet and the 1899 polyantha climber, Rosa Leuchstem.  In late Spring or early Summer, Rosa 'Nearly Wild' produces small pointed buds which open to slightly fragrant, clusters of single, medium pink flowers with white eye, borne on new wood.  It has dull, dark green leaves with red highlight.  Floribunda Rose 'Nearly Wild' is easily propagated from stem cuttings, budding or grafting.  It thrives best in well-drained, acidic soil in a sunny environment.  Rosa 'Nearly Wild' tolerates part shade.  It is drought tolerant when established and is low maintenance.  Floribunda Rose 'Nearly Wild' is disease resistant but do have some black spots.  It  is thorny so plant away from children.  Prune Rosa 'Nearly Wild' early to promote new growth next season.  Grow several to make an eye-catching low border.  I love the beauty and color that Floribunda Rose 'Nearly Wild' brings to the sunny Spring, Summer and Fall landscape.  It sure attracts attention.

USDA Zones:  4-10
