Comments: Salix integra 'Hakuro Nishiki' or Dappled Willow or Nishiki Willow or Albomaculata is a deciduous shrub with a semi-weeping growth habit. It is of hybrid origin, a cross between Salix fuiri-koriyanagi and Salix integra albomaculata. Salix integra 'Hakuro Nishiki' has awesome variegated foliage that appea pink in Spring then maturing to creamy white and green and in the Fall, yellow. It produces ornamental soft yellow catkins in late Winter. It is easily propagated from cuttings or simple layering. Dappled Willow performs best in well-drained, rich, moist, sandy, clayey, acidic to mildly alkaline soil. It is an excellent candidate for a fantastic foliage plant. Mass plant Nishiki Willow for an awesome hedge. Trim to desired size and shape in early Spring or late Fall. The emerging new shoots creates a fascinating tri-colored foliage shrub. The young red stems are of a brighter red than the red stems in Winter. Albomaculata looks stunning in the garden and is easily spotted by passer-bys. Salix integra 'Hakuro Nishiki' brings much life to an all season landscape.
