Comments: Salvia nemorosa 'Snow Hill' or Balkan Clary or Ornamental Meadow Sage or Perennial Woodland Sage or Violet Sage is a herbaceous perennial with a compact, airy, medium growth habit. It is a showy hybrid. From mid-Summer till frost, Salvia nemorosa 'Snow Hill' produces abundant terminal spikes of fragrant, pure white blossoms. Butterflies and hummingbirds and bees are magnetized by the nectar-rich blossoms. Balkan Clary 'Snow Hill' has herbaceous serrated aromatic leaves. When crushed the foliage emit a delightful scent. Ornamental Meadow Sage 'Snow Hill' is easily propagated from softwood stem cuttings taken in Spring. It thrives best in well-drained, rich, acidic, alkaline or neutral soil in a sunny to part shade environment. Salvia nemorosa 'Snow Hill' is low maintenance. It is rabbit resistant and tolerates drought condition hence is ideal for xeriscaping. Remove spent flowers of Perennial Woodland Sage for a long lasting, continuous bloom. Trim plant by half in Winter and it will return next season with a more vibrant growth. Mass plant Meadow Sage 'Snow Hill' in the border or rock garden for a splendid display. It is an ideal plant for a white garden. Ornamental Meadow Sage glows in the dark. In colder areas, Salvia nemerosa 'Snow Hill' can also be container cultivated and brought indoors for the Winter. The dried foliage makes wonderful pot-pourris for the home, car or office. I love the aromatic foliage very much and stick a few in my dresser. In colder areas, bring Salvia indoors for the Winter. This beautiful hybrid is a splendid showstopper.
