Comments:  Salvia roemeriana or Cedar Sage or Roemer's Sage is a perennial with a moderate growth habit.  It is a native of Texas.  In late Spring or early Summer, Salvia roemeriana produces red tubular blossoms followed later by seeds.  Hummingbirds, butterflies and bees are magnetized by its nectar-rich blossoms.  Roemer's Sage is easily propagated from seeds.  It thrives best in well-drained garden soil in a sunny to part shade location. It tolerates drought conditions when established and is excellent for xeriscaping.  Mass plant Cedar Sage in the perennial bed for a striking display.  Roemer's Sage can also be container cultivated.  It makes great rock garden plants.  Cedar Sage self sows readily and soon forms a nice clump.  Salvia roemeriana s is an easy plant to grow and is very showy.

USDA Zones:  7-10
