Comments:  Tagetes lemonnonii or Copper Canyon Daisy or Mexican Bush Marigold or Mount Lemmon Marigold or Shrub Marigold or Tagetes alamensis or Tagetes palmeri is a subtropical perennial with a shrubby, sprawling growth habit.  It is a of origin.  From Fall through Winter, Tagetes lemonnonii produces masses of showy, gold, daisy-like flowers, followed later by seeds.  Hummingbirds, butterflies and bees are magnetized by the nectar-rich flowers while birds enjoy feasting on the seeds.  Copper Canyon Daisy has herbaceous, evergreen, glossy foliage.  Mexican Bush Marigold is easily propagated from seeds or cuttings.  It thrives best in well-drained, alkaline soil in a sunny environment.  Tagetes alamensis is low maintenance and tolerates drought condition, hence excellent for xeriscaping.  Deers would not go near it.  Use Tagetes Lemmonii in the rock garden.  Mass plant for a terrific show in the arid landscape.  Use them in rock gardens.  The colors are very welcoming in Fall when most plants have been killed by frost at this time of the season.  Copper Canyon Daisy tends to get leggy as they get older and then sprawl over so provide sufficient room for it to grow.  In mid-Spring, prune back to half-size after flowering season is over to promote abundant blooms in the Fall.  Protect Tagetes palmeri from strong wind to prevent breakage.   I love everything about this awesome cold hardy, carefree, beautiful perennial. Mexican Bush Marigold is a spectacular show stopper.

USDA Zones:  7-10
