Comments: Trillium erectum or Great White Trillium is a pretty woodland perennial plant. It is a native to United States. Trillium grandiflorum is the among all the trilliums. It is a harbinger of Spring. From Spring to mid-Summer, it produces white blossoms turning to pale pink with age. Among the Trilliums, Great White Trillium is the easiest to propagate from seeds or from offsets. Seed propagation usually take 2 years to germinate and 5 more years to blossom; they have to be sown as soon as possible as they have short shelf life. Trillium grandiflorum thrives best in well-drained, moist, humus-rich, neutral to acidic pH soil in a shady location. Great White Trillium goes dormant in Summer. It has interesting herbaceous, curly-tipped green herbaceous foliage made up of 3 and the flower has 3 petals with 3 sepals, hence its common name, Trinity Flower. Great White Trillium has no known insect or disease problems. It is easy and does not demand much attention. Mass plant Trillium grandiflorum in a woodland setting for a splendid display. Great White Trillium makes excellent foliage plants in the shade garden. It is very showy and attracts a lot of attention. Trillium grandiflorum forms a nice colony quickly, creating a lovely carpet.
