Comments: Vinca minor or Common Periwinkle or Creeping Myrtle or Flower-of-Death is a perennial vining subshrub with a fast, trailing creeping growth habit. From spring to mid-Summer, violet-purple solitary blossoms appear on leaf axils. Vinca minor has lovely leathery, glossy green foliage. It is easily propagated from layering, softwood cuttings, rootball divisions or seeds. Common Periwinkle performs best in full sun to full shade. It produces roots along stems which helps form a nice colony quickly. Mass plant Creeping Myrtle as eye-catching groundcovers and allow them to freely roam making a nice carpet under taller trees or shrubs. Flower-of-Death is low maintenance and looks attractive in window boxes, mixed planting or hanging baskets.
USDA Zones: 4-8
