Comments:  The Mandevilla x amoena or Pink Allamanda or Mandevilla is a tropical/subtropical climbing perennial that repeatedly produces fragrant exquisite pink trumpet-shaped blooms during the growing seasons.  This vining plant is easy to grow, is pest-free and it attracts many bees, butterflies and the ruby-throat hummingbirds.  I train my Pink Allamanda plant to climb up the arbor and it really adds color to my landscaping garden with its large, gorgeous floriferous blooms.  Fertilize Mandevilla x amoena during growing season.  Mulch with compost or leaf mold in Winter to protect from frost.  Cut Pink Allamanda vine to ground in late Winter or early Spring and it will return next season with a more vibrant and bushy growth.  Mandevilla makes an attractive fencing or screening plant or simply let it twine on a trellis or arbor.  I am very pleased with my Mandevilla vine as it draws many visitors.
Mandevilla is named after a famed British diplomat and keen gardener, Henry Mandeville (1773-1861).
USDA Hardiness Zones :  5-10
