Origin:  Southeast Asia
Light:  Bright indirect sun
Height:  6-12"
Spacing:  2-3'   
Blooms:  Brilliant red flowers emerging from dark red calyx, reminiscent of a lipstick, late Summer
Foliage:  Glossy dark green, leathery leaves
Soil:  Well-drained, loose 
Water:  Regular, too wet will cause root disease, sparingly in winter
Fertilizer:  Balanced fertilizer 10-10-10, monthly or bi-monthly
Insect/Disease:  Watch out for mealybugs
Propagation: Softwood cuttings, roots easily in water
Uses:  Ground cover, hanging basket, container, indoor
Comments:  Aeschynanthus radicans 'Crispa' or  Lipstick Plant or Basket Vine is an interesting trailing epiphyte that loves humidity and can withstand a dry atmosphere or neglectful watering. Lipstick Plant is easy to grow climber.  Minimum indoor temperature 60 degreesF.
