Comments:  Zinnia 'Cherry Queen' or Zinnia elegans is a showy annual plant with a short, bush-like growth habit.  It has herbaceous green foliage.  From mid-Summer to frost, Zinnia 'Cherry Queen' repeatedly produces abundant gorgeous scarlet flowers.  The freshly cut flowers make a lovely bouquet.  Butterflies and bees are magnetized by the nectar-rich blossoms while birds enjoy feasting on the seeds.  Zinnia elegans 'Cherry Queen' is easily propagated from seeds.  It thrives best in well-drained soil in a sunny environment.  Mass plant in beds among perennials for a dazzling display in borders.  Zinnia 'Cherry Queen' can also be container cultivated.  It is low maintenance and tolerates drought conditions.  Zinnia elegans 'Cherry Queen' self sows readily so deadhead if you do not wish to have any volunteers next season.  Remove spent flowers to promote more blossoms.  Zinnia 'Cherry Queen' is ideal for xeriscaping and naturalizes easily in the dry landscape.  This incredible performer can also be container cultivated.  Zinnia elegans 'Cherry Queen' is very eye-catching and continuously brightens the Summer landscape.
