Comments: Alocasia aurora or Pink-stemmed Elephant Ear is a beautiful
bulb with a clumping habit. Young leaves are lime-green but ages
with prominetn veins to crispy silvers. The young stems are pale
pink and ages to a deeper pink. Pink-stemmed Elephant Ear forms
cormlets at the vase and produces pup profusely after the first seson so
allocated sufficient space for them to expand. Alocasia aurora
has been known to
tolerate brief temperature of below 27 degrees F. However, the
plant will go dormant and will return the following season with new
growth.
Pink-stemmed Elephant Ear makes an iimpressive perennial for the shade
garden or grow it in a container to accent the patio or deck or as a
lvoely houseplant. Alocasia aurora is very easy to grow
and is such a joy to own.
