Amaryllis
is a carefree, hardy, low-maintenance specimen plant that attracts
butterflies and bees. Amaryllis Hippeastrum 'Pasadena' flowers are
really gorgeous; they are red and striped with white. There are as
many as four flowers on a single stalk and each is shaped like a
6-pointed star and they make excellent cut flowers. After plant has finished blooming, cut off the
stalk 3" from bulb and remove wilted leaves. This bulb is
easy to grow; plant the bulb in growing medium with one third bulb
showing in a pot about one inch wider than the bulb. Feed
Amaryllis Hippeastrum 'Pasadena' regularly with well-balanced liqud
fertilizer while plant is in bloom. Amaryllis Hippeastrum 'Pasadena'
loves humidity and would enjoy being misted on hot Summer days.
This perennial can be forced indoors for a gorgeous display of blossom
