Elephant Ear or Black Taro is
a beautiful tropical perennial tuber plant that spreads by above-ground
runners. The leaves are darker when grown in shade and the stems are
black.
Colocasia esculenta 'Fontanesii' bulbous plant has beautiful contrasting foliage.
Grow them en masse for a dramatic effect for the water garden, mixed container
centerpiece or beddings. Black-stem Elephant Ear is easily
propagaed from tuber division or offsets. It thrives well in shady
area of the landscape. Black Taro loves plenty of water.
