Comments:  Aechmea disticantha or Bromeliad is a beautiful funnel-shaped monocarpic plant and is quite a show-stopper with its stately beautiful bloom.  However, Bromeliad plant dies after putting out a long-lasting beautiful bloom, replaced by an offset. Aechmea disticantha produces a white fleshy cylindrical-shaped wooly berry which can be easily germinated in orchid potting mix.  When grown in masses, Bromeliad plants look lovely in the shady xeriscaping landscape.
