Origin:  Mexico
Family:  Cactaceae
Light:  Full sun. sun-part shade
Height:  4'-6'
Spread:  1'-6'    
Blooms: Pale yellow flowers in spring
Foliage:  Green, 6" velvety succulent pads
Soil:  Drought tolerant

Propagation: Woody stem cuttings
Caution:  Bristles on pads, wear gloves
Comments: Optunia microdasys albispina or Bunny Ears Prickly Pear is an interesting cactus plant that is very easy to grow.  The new pads grow on top of old pads which makes it look like bunny's ears, hence that's how Bunny Ears Prickly Pear got its name.
