Devil's Backbone or Christmas Candle or Jacob's Ladder or Japanese Poinsettia or Redbird
Cactus or Slipper's Spurge or Zigzag Plant is an easy to grow hardy succulent plant.
Jacob's Ladder is low-maintenance and thrives well in dry arid soil. The stems of
Christmas Candle
plant are crooked in a zig-zag fashion. With medium humidity, cuttings are easily
propagated in an ideal temperature of 55 degrees F, however allow milky sap on cuttings
of Japancese Poinsettia to dry out before
planting. The red flowers of Slipper's Spurge that appear on the
tip of the scrooked stems are bird-shaped, hence the name, Redbird
Cactus,. Planted in masses in the xeriscaping landscape, Variegated Devil's Backbone plants
look lovely year round. Position Zigzag Plant in a well-lighted area for
better foliage coloration. Pedilanthus tithymaloides 'Variegatus'
makes an interesting and beautiful indoor plant.
