Comments: Aloe maculata or African Aloe or Zebra Aloe or Soap Aloe is a
salt-tolerant and carefree succulent. It is a carefree and fast-growing
invasive plant that spreads by suckers. The mother plant produces many
offsets which can be removed and planted. The sap from the African Aloe can be used as a soap
substitute, hence its name Soap Aloe. Aloe maculata makes an interesting
plant for the xeriscaping garden, border or desert garden and it is a butterfly
and hummingbird attractant. Protect this succulent
from frost.
