The dried leaves of this plant are used as a herb to brew a diuretic drink called
the "Tea of Java", a popular in countries like Malaysia, Indonesia and
India to control diabetes and to treat bladder problems. Protect from
frost. Remove spent flowers to encourage more blooms. Attracts bees and
butterflies and hummingbirds. Also comes in light purple color.
